faceless sisters revisited...

this is a digitally altered doodle from an ongoing series of hooded creatures, not sure if its finished yet. I currently have two paintings in the work as well, the plan is to display these at an upcoming zine launch party/art show in Feb. that a good friend is organizing, more details to follow

revisited my zombie punk doodle and played around with it in photoshop, still kept it simple in nature like the original, just added a few areas of color, also will be using this as my new blog header...

new mixed media pieces i've been working on, this kinda process is way too much fun...just nailing shit on boards and spray painting and stapling....

zombie portrait

this piece was inspired from seeing a number of daguerreotype portraits while helping my dad setup antiques, the somber looks and drab clothing paired with the shine of the metal is an interesting combination. i took the classic imagery and added my flavor, making her a zombie with blue eyes with a stitched up mouth and an upside down cross on her forehead, and a red background.

a little piece i drew up for this little frame. being confined to a small area to work in has its benefits and drawbacks. 

a look back

i tried to put these in chronological order... a number of zombie business men show up in these pieces. most of the images were ripped out of my doodle book that i primarily used at work.

a few more characters to add to the collection, the horns seem to be appearing more often in my work, i believe they contrast the crosses nicely...

q.o.b. and friends

q.ob. or the queen of boredom originated from com tech class in high school, a friend wanted a girly version of my infamous character the king of boredom (k.o.b.) over the years the k.o.b. and q.o.b. have evolved and changed slightly. the hooded creatures with the horns have become very popular in my doodles, they stem from my recent obsession with catholic images primarily nuns, popes, crosses, and cathedrals. i simply added some horns to the nuns and condensed their faces and they resemble more of a satanic image now. i also tossed in some of my favorite images to doodle as filler to go along with the various characters on the page...exclamation point, question mark, @ sign, crowns, broken t.v, syringe

d.o.d. inspired skull

this is a little something i drew up a while ago, inspired from the mexican day of the dead celebration, i added a few of my personal touches to it...upside down crucifix, crown, heavy shadow under the eyes, and a hard blue outline, i intend to frame this eventually, its amazing how a frame can add credibility to a simple drawing on lined paper.

pointy things

at first glance these three images seem random, only tied together by a few coincidences....repetition of color in a few spots, horns and pointy things, blue eyes. take a closer look and notice the composition of the three images have a similar layout....a blob with two projections from the top...haha wish i could say that was on purpose.
